A good way to get your post-workout protein, especially if you don’t want to consume a protein supplement, is this extreme omelet. It has all the amino acids, good fats and easily digestible natural protein your body needs after an intense workout, will help your muscles recover faster, and will help prevent the loss of lean mass post-workout.

Ingredients:

(makes 2 servings)

  • 2 eggs

  • ½ cup boneless chicken (small pieces)

  • ½ cup paneer (crumbled)

  • ¼ cup cheese (grated)

  • ½ teaspoon mixed herbs

  • ½ teaspoon mustard sauce

  • 1 tbsp BBQ sauce

  • 2 tsp chopped garlic

  • 1 cup water

  • 1 tbsp oil

  • Salt to taste

How to prepare:

  1. Marinate the chicken with the herbs, mustard sauce, BBQ sauce and salt, and leave for 2 hours or overnight in the fridge.

  2. Heat oil, then add the finely chopped garlic. Once it turns golden add the marinated chicken and water. Cover and cook until the water evaporates. Add the paneer cubes, mix well and set aside.

  3. Make a plain omelet. Add the chicken and paneer stuffing on one half of it, sprinkle the grated cheese over the stuffing, then fold the omelet closed. Cut it into half and serve hot.
