Green smoothies are the perfect way to pack a few extra nutrients into your busy day. This amazing recipe is perfect, especially if your daily vegetable and fruit intake is inconsistent or low. The combination of ingredients is also high in antioxidants and results in an interesting combination of tangy and sweet flavors. The icing on the cake is that it’s both a pre and probiotic at the same time, making for a happy gut.
Ingredients:
(makes 2 servings)
½ cup pineapple chunks (preferably frozen)
1 small sprig fresh mint
½ cup greek yogurt
¼ tsp vanilla extract
½ cup baby spinach
1 tbsp flax seed
1 tbsp cashews
1 tsp honey
2 tbsp rolled oats
1 ice cube
How to prepare:
Blend all the ingredients together in your blender
Blend until it becomes a smooth and creamy texture (you shouldn’t be able to see any solid bits)
Taste and then add extra mint leaves if you prefer a more minty flavour
