A nutritious, delicious and healthy snack on a busy day, this ‘desi’ trail mix recipe is full of the goodness of nuts and seeds that can be enjoyed with a flavorful masala mix. Enjoy this treat. Happy Snacking!

Ingredients:

(makes 10 servings)

For mixture:

  • 1 cup makhana                                   

  • 1/4 cup walnuts                                   

  • 3/4 cup almonds                                      

  • 1/4 cup Pumpkin seeds                           

  • 1/4 cup Sunflower seeds                           


For masala mix:

  • ½  cup flaxseed                                     

  • 2 Tbsp. sesame seeds                                            

  • 1 tsp thymol seeds (Ajwain)              

  • 1 Tbsp. cumin seeds                             

  • Asafoetida (Hing)                       

  • ½ tsp dry Mango powder (OR 2 tbsp chat masala)                  

  • ½ tsp dry ginger                                  

  • 1 Tbsp. ghee      

  • Table salt to taste 

  • Chili powder to taste                                                         


How to prepare:

1. Quick roast all the ingredients on a low flame and then let cool 

2. Make a coarse powder of all the roasted ingredients for the masala

3. Add the masala to the roasted ingredients and mix well

4. Store in an air-tight container
