I thought that CGMs were developed for diabetics. Can anyone use a CGM?

Continuous Glucose Monitoring (CGM) sensors were initially developed to improve the ability of doctors to manage the medication, especially the insulin doses, of their diabetic patients more effectively, including for children with juvenile diabetes. The Abbott Labs FreeStyle Libre Flash Glucose Monitoring System that is included in our programs is generally used to measure interstitial fluid glucose levels in those 4-years and older with diabetes. Children between ages 4 and 12 years must be supervised by a caregiver who is at least 18 years old.

Increasingly, however, even non-diabetic individuals have begun using these devices to monitor their blood glucose levels to help avoid diabetes and optimize their physical and mental performance. Over time, the proactive management of glucose, aided by the use of CGM sensors, greatly helps all of us adopt better diet and lifestyle habits, and to live healthier lives longer.
